Effective Date: April 19, 2026
CommuniDev (“we,” “our,” “us”) builds small, privacy-respecting applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information our apps and website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to all CommuniDev applications distributed on the Apple App Store and to this website.
Summary
- Our apps are local-first. Your content is stored on your device unless you explicitly sync or share it.
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We do not maintain user accounts or profiles on our servers.
- We use a small number of third-party services (Apple, Google, Firebase) to deliver ads, measure crashes, and provide subscriptions. These services are described below.
Information Our Apps Process
Content you create
Content you create in our apps (notes, photos, plans, places, models, recipes, and similar items) is stored locally on your device (and optionally in your private iCloud container if iCloud sync is enabled). We cannot read this content.
Camera and photo library
Some of our apps request camera or photo library access to scan items, capture images, or edit photos. All processing is performed on device. Captured images are not uploaded to CommuniDev servers.
Microphone
Some of our apps use the microphone for on-device audio analysis (for example, to detect snoring sounds during sleep). Audio is analyzed on device in real time and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Location
Some of our apps use location data only to display and save places you explicitly add. Location is not tracked in the background and is not transmitted to CommuniDev.
Health data (HealthKit)
Some of our apps may request read or write access to Apple HealthKit to save sleep events or related metrics. HealthKit data is managed by iOS and stored in your private Health database. CommuniDev does not receive, read, or transmit HealthKit data off your device.
Anonymous Feedback
Our apps include a feedback feature that lets you submit bug reports and feature requests. When you submit feedback, your message is posted as an issue on a private GitHub repository we maintain. Each submission includes:
- An anonymous Submitter ID — a random UUID generated on your device the first time the app is launched. It is stored in the iOS Keychain and persists across reinstalls so that we can identify and, if necessary, block abusive submitters. It is not linked to your Apple ID, email address, or device identifiers.
- Non-identifying device information such as app version, iOS version, and device model, to help us reproduce issues.
If you include personal information (e.g., your email) in the body of a feedback message, that information will be visible to CommuniDev maintainers.
Advertising
Our apps display ads through Google AdMob. In accordance with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, iOS will prompt you to allow or deny tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. Your choice is respected:
- If you deny tracking, ads served to you will be non-personalized and the IDFA (advertising identifier) will not be shared.
- If you allow tracking, AdMob and its partners may use the IDFA to deliver personalized ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
Users with an active Premium subscription do not see ads.
Subscriptions and Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via StoreKit. CommuniDev does not receive your payment information. Apple provides us with anonymous transaction receipts used solely to verify your subscription status.
Third-Party Services
- Apple — App Store distribution, StoreKit subscriptions, iCloud sync, HealthKit. Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — ad delivery. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase — Remote Config (for managing feature flags and ad settings) and anonymous crash reporting. Subject to Firebase’s Privacy and Security documentation.
- GitHub — destination for user feedback submissions. Subject to GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
Children’s Privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights
Because content created in our apps is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the relevant records within the app or by uninstalling the app. You can revoke camera, microphone, location, tracking, and HealthKit permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
If you have submitted feedback and would like it removed, contact us at the email below and include the approximate date of submission.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above. Material changes will be announced in-app or on this website.
